When can you plant outside?

As Spring starts and it starts to get warmer it is tempting to start planting out in the garden. But, my Nan has always said "Don't plant anything out until after Mother's Day!". Which her tip stands pretty true to the UDSA planting zones. We are in Southwestern Ohio, in zone 6a. Our average last frost date (the end of the window that you can expect - no guaranties with the weather - freezing temps) is April 26.

You can find your USDA zone here! And you can search your frost dates here! This information is useful to plan when to plant annuals in your gardens and flowerbeds, when you should start seeds indoors, what kind of perennials will survive in your climate and when you can plant perennials throughout the year.

Comment where you are located and what your frost dates are!
